Kim A. Stover,
Interim Pastor
Kim Alan Stover grew up in a tiny town in rural Nebraska. He and his
wife, Sue, graduated from Ravenna High School, Ravenna, NE. He graduated
in 1973 from Concordia Teachers' College, Seward, NE with an Education
Degree and teaching certificate for Elementary Education.
He
and Sue were married in 1972 and have three adult children: Jeremy and
wife Elyse of San Francisco; Joshua and wife Caron of Atlanta; and
Andrea and boyfriend Kyle of Atlanta. Grandchildren Ellory (1) lives in
San Francisco and Max (3) lives in Atlanta. Kim's and Sue's parents are
deceased as well as one of Kim's three brothers.
Prior to seminary education and training, Kim worked as a lay assistant
at Zion Lutheran Church, Stamford, CT; taught first grade as well as
remedial reading and math at Ravenna Schools; sold farm shop supplies,
photocopiers, and detailed nutritional and pharmaceutical products
(Ross-Abbott Labs) to doctors and hospital based nurses in Nebraska.
In
1990, Sue and Kim moved to Columbus, Ohio for seminary training. Kim was
ordained in 1994, accepting a call to Springboro Lutheran Church,
Springboro, OH. Sue graduated with a Master of Lay Ministry Degree in
1996.
In
1998, Kim and Sue served Trinity Lutheran Church, Hildreth, NE, a
congregation made up of three merged congregations in Franklin County.
In 2006, they accepted calls to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Wayne, NE.
In his last year at OSLC, Kim participated in Intentional Interim
Training sponsored by the National Association of Lutheran Interim
Pastors.
Kim
and Sue still own a home in Wayne, NE and will rent an apartment in
Durham for the interim period. Sue will seek work in Durham, and will
share some time with family in Atlanta.
