Music and Christian Worship at St. Paul's
Worship is central to our ministry at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.  In our corporate worship, God offers us forgiveness of sins and eternal life because of what Jesus did for us.  Week by week, we are confronted by our sinful nature, assured of our forgiveness, and strengthened in our faith.  All that we do as a greater community flows from this.  As Lutherans, we acknowledge that the true Church exists where the Gospel is preached purely and the sacraments are administered rightly.  We recognize that God reaches out to us through the Word that is read, sung, and preached.  Since the Reformation, music has been a fundamental part of Lutheran worship.  Martin Luther wrote:  "I wish to make German psalms for the people, that is to say sacred hymns, so that the word of God may dwell among the people also by means of song."
"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord . . . and extol him with music and song" -- Psalm 95:1, 2

"Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord."  -- Ephesians 5:19

If you have an interest in participating with the choirs, singing solos, playing a keyboard instrument, playing hand bells or other musical instruments, please contact our Minister of Music, Brian Cash or telephone him at 919-489-3214).  We would like to give you every opportunity to join us in corporate worship by being a part of our musical leadership.  You are welcome to return to God a portion of His many blessings, gifts and talents by volunteering for any of the following:

"LAUDATE" Handbell Choir meets on Tuesday nights to rehearse. "Laudate" is Latin for "Praise Him" and is St. Paul's Adult Hand Bell Choir.

"Kids of the Kingdom" Choir is St. Paul's Youth Choir for children ages 5-10.  This choir meets as part of the Wednesday Night Ministry.

"Youth Orchestra" is our Youth instrumental ensemble composed of youth in grades 5 through 12.

"Senior Choir" consists of adults who sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs at the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services.  Both Adult Choirs will rehearse jointly on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:30 pm downstairs in the Genesis Room.

For exact schedule of all choirs, hand bell choirs, or youth orchestra rehearsals, please check Church Calendar or Parish Notes.  Summer schedules can be different from school-year schedules.
