Young
Adult Ministry (YAM)
provides the opportunity for young adults in
to get-together for study, service, and fellowship at St. Paul's. The
group meets for Bible study and lively discussions of the
impact of faith on career, family, and individual development. YAMs
coordinates service projects to assist others both within the church
and throughout the larger community. The group offers
opportunities to get to know other young adults in the congregation,
through Sunday Bible study, small group dinners, fellowship
activities, service projects, and retreats. Interested? Contact
the church office for further information. |

events. For current events of the Young In Spirit group, check out the "Parish
News and Notes" page or the current monthly newsletter: Cross

| Women of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America |
|
Women of the ELCA is an
incorporated, self-supporting organization, with nearly three million participants in
9,000 congregations, managed within the policies of the ELCA.
St. Paul's has two circles
meeting at this time.
The Tabitha Circle
meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:15 pm. Meetings are
held at St. Paul's and include worship, programs, fellowship, and
refreshments. The Tabitha Circle volunteers to operate the 8:30 am
Sunday Nursery during worship. All women are invited to attend.
The Katherine Circle meets on the third Tuesday of each month at
10:00 am from September through May. Meetings are held at St. Paul's unless advance notice is posted. Monthly
meetings include worship, programs with timely topics by circle members or guest speakers,
fellowship, and refreshments.
All women of St. Paul's are considered members of Women of the ELCA and an open
invitation is extended to attend all meetings. If you would like to receive information
about Women of the ELCA, please contact the
church office. We can put you in touch with
the various officers of the group. Or, come to either of the meetings.
Some ongoing projects the circles conduct are: |
|
 |
Replacing visitor and communion cards
in pews |
|
 |
Hymnal markers |
|
 |
Cleaning the church kitchen |
|

Knitting baby caps for newborns at

Making baby quilts for local hospitals |
|
| Standby Ministry |
|
The
stand-by ministry committee functions under the auspices of ChristCare
Ministry. However, this ministry
embraces the congregation-at-large. Where there is a long, serious and/or unexpected
illness or death in the congregation, we wish to show our Christian concern and support in
a tangible way. The Committee goes into action when a need is made known to the pastor,
the church or the coordinators. Duties are rotated so that the same person is not called
upon too frequently. There are no meetings to attend. Let the church office know if you
are receptive to calls when a need arises. |

| Tongue and Thimble
Sewing Group |
|
This is a fun group of women who
meet in the Matthew Room at St. Paul's on the second and fourth
Wednesdays of the month at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Sometimes it is more tongue than thimble but
they do manage to create many quilts and baby caps which are sent to the local hospitals
for distribution in their neonatal wards. Contact the
church office if you have an interest
in sewing and conversation. |

| Men's Breakfast Group |
|
On Rally Day in September (the
Sunday following Labor Day) and on Easter Sunday, the men have the opportunity to pose as
chefs for the morning. They serve up a wonderful breakfast to feed large numbers. On
Shrove Tuesday, the night before Ash Wednesday, they get to try their cooking skills as
pancake turners. All meals are served on a free-will offering basis and we encourage
everyone to partake. |
